Klezmer Brunch @ The Parlor Room is back with old-world fun for the whole family.
Bagels! Orange Juice! Mimosas! We’ll be swinging and singing with music from across the diaspora. Please join us to dance, nosh and let loose your joyful voice along with Western Mass’s very own Myrtle Street Klezmer!
Influenced by the fist-pounding clarinet-howling rituals of the shtetls of Eastern Europe; sensuous sephardic grooves; and groovalicious psychedelic 60's Middle-Eastern rock - Myrtle Street Klezmer is an ecstatic exploration into the past, present and future of klezmer featuring: Jason Ditzian, clarinet; Myk Freedman, electric guitar; Jesse Olsen Bay, vocals/bass/strings; Dan Baker, tuba/banjo; Doug Plavin, drums; Bea Carlson, accordion.
Tickets are non-refundable.
The Parlor Room is located at 32 Masonic Street Northampton, MA 01060
Kugelplex Album Release Party
Kugelplex is the West Coast's rockin’-est purveyor of klezmer and old-world music. Formed in 2001, the group plays wild, soulful dance music, has received awards from the Zellerbach Family Foundation and San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music, and has been klezmer-band-in-residence with the Oakland Symphony for over a decade.
The ensemble features an all-star cast of Bay Area virtuoso musicians. Everyone in the ensemble tours internationally, performs/records with a wide range of bands, and then comes together as Kugelplex. It is their mission to keep this old-world klezmer tradition thriving into the 21st century and beyond...
